International Society of the Built Environment

International Conferences

ISBE organises international conferences and symposia at venues planned to serve its world membership.

ISBE co-organises an annual international symposium and workshop with the Center for Sustainable Healthy Buildings (CSHeB) of South Korea.

The themes of the CSHeB symposium are based on issues of Sustainability and Healthy Buildings in Korea. The International Symposium for 2010 will be held on 27th May 2010 at the Grand Intercontinental Hotel in Seoul.

Papers selected for presentation at the SHB 2010 will be published in a special issue of Indoor and Built Environment. The special issue of SHB 2009 was published in: [Indoor and Built Environment 2010: Vol 19 (1)]. The title of the special issue was "Health and Wellbeing" for Sustainable Building in Korea.

ISBE collaborates with Chongqing University in China and co-organises a bi-annual international conference on Sustainable Development in Building and Environment (SudBE). An International World Congress on Energy Efficient Buildings is being planned for 2011. For information of past conferences (e.g. SudBE2009) and other local activities, please see: http://www.itubeme.com/Enguoji.asp?BigClass=International%20cooperation.

ISBE organises regular conferences and seminar events with the School of Engineering and Design at the Brunel University in the UK and we are in discussion about a plan for a conference based on the themes of Sustainable Materials and Built Environments.

ISBE also organises other conferences and seminar events with Environmental Building Solutions Ltd. (EBS), International Biodeterioration, Biodegradation Society (IBBS) and the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineers (CIPHE) on a variety of subjects related to Building Conservation, Biodeterioration, Water Drainage Systems, Water Supply, Heating and Plumbing Engineering for the built environments. Please look out for announcement of events and please also visit IBBS and CIPHE websites for information of seminar events.
